Large floodplain complex on Bevan Bend along the Potomac River. Privately owned and still relatively undeveloped from the CHOH NPS land to here. Most of the forest is CEGL4073 rich floodplain forest with small areas of silver maple or tulip poplar dominance (60-90 cm dbh's). To the W of the plot is a low weedy annual cobble zone, then the river with floating aquatics (Heteranthera dubia - Vallisneria americana). Across the river is Maryland. See plots MORG.16,18,19,20 for more context.;Open sunny frequently flooded cobble bar with dominance by Panicum virgatum. The Panicum grows in clumped tussocks. In between are sandy cobbly lows with weedy annuals (Polygonum caespitosum, Ambrosia artemisifolia, Xanthium strumarium).
